Utah State University’s Music Department presents the annual fall guitar ensemble concert Monday, Nov. 12, at 7:30 p.m. in the Taggart Student Center Auditorium.
“This concert features something for everyone and will be a great show,” said Mike Christiansen, professor of music and director of guitar studies in the Caine College of the Arts at Utah State University.
Students will perform works including Tommy Keene’s La Castana, Richard Roger’s My Funny Valentine and Duke Ellington’s Take the A Train. Both large and small ensembles will perform a variety of musical styles, ranging from classical to rock with everything in between.
This performance marks the 35th year that guitar ensembles have performed at USU. Music majors participate in ensemble groups, fine tuning their skills and to prepare for the professional world. Members of the guitar ensembles are mainly guitar majors, both acoustic and electric.
Tickets are $10 general admission, $8 seniors and youth, $5 USU faculty and staff and free for USU students with ID. For more information and tickets, visit the Caine College of the Arts Box Office located in room 139-B of the Chase Fine Arts Center on USU’s Logan campus, call 435-797-8022 or see the college website online.
