In response to the sudden death of faculty member Alan Hashimoto, the Caine College of the Arts has created a Facebook page in his memory. Hashimoto, a noted teacher and artist died Feb. 11. He was a faculty member in the Department of Art and Design at Utah State University where he taught for nearly 25 years.

Craig Jessop, dean of the Caine College of the Arts, issued a statement to the college’s faculty and staff concerning Hashimoto’s death.

“It is with profound feelings of sadness that I write to you regarding the passing of our colleague Alan Hashimoto. He was transported from his campus office today to Logan Regional Hospital where they were unable to revive him,” Jessop wrote. “This is a huge loss for many of us personally and for the college. Alan was a man of boundless energy and enormous vision, and he will be sorely missed by all of us. Our hearts go out to his wife, Amy, and his children and to the rest of Alan’s family.”
