Provost's Series on Instructional Excellence

The next presentation in the ongoing Provost’s Series on Instructional Excellence is Tuesday, Feb. 26, from 3:30-5 p.m., Merrill-Cazier Library, Room 154. The series is sponsored by Utah State University’s office of the executive vice president and provost, and all faculty are invited.
The Flipped/Blended Classroom is the subject of the presentation and features faculty members from a variety of disciplines and program areas.
Session organizers are looking for participants who are interested in:
- Reinvigorating your teaching
- Actively engaging your students in class
- Improving student learning outcomes
During the presentation, a panel of USU faculty will share their experiences in flipping the classroom (moving lecture outside of class and actively engaging students during class) and in designing and implementing blended courses (combination of online and face-to-face assignments and activities). Resources and expertise that are available to facilitate flipped/blended classroom design at USU will also be discussed.

Ethan White, associate professor, Department of Biology, Logan Campus;
Mike Christiansen, assistant professor, Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, Uintah Basin Campus;
Heidi Wengreen, associate professor, Department of Nutrition, Dietetics, and Food Sciences, Logan Campus;
John Louviere, director, Center of Innovative Design and Instruction (formerly FACT Center)
