High-Flying Acrobats at USU for Arts Week

The Aerial Angels performance company is among the featured performers at Arts Week presented by the Caine College of the Arts. The aerial, acrobatic group performs Jan. 23.
The Aerial Angels have performed internationally but will arrive in Logan in a 1998 Toyota Camry for the Jan. 23 performance.
Event organizers promise that the Aerial Angels will amaze with its performance as part of Arts Week at Utah State University. The aerial, acrobatic group performs Wednesday, Jan. 23, 7:30 p.m., in the Kent Concert Hall of the Chase Fine Arts Center.
“This event is geared toward both students and community members to involve them in the arts,” said Meg Campbell, arts senator representing the college in ASUSU. “This show will be entertaining to everyone who comes.”
The Aerial Angels is a circus arts and aerial theater company based in Michigan. The mostly-female group specializes in aerial silk, trapeze, fire-eating, contortion, comedy and partner acrobatics. The company performs throughout the United States and different countries, including Italy, United Arab Emirates, Singapore and England.
The group performs with the assistance of a 24-foot free-standing hot pink aerial rig that holds the aerial silk, trapeze and hoop. The performers travel in a 1998 Toyota Camry, fitting the aerial rig, three or four performers, their gear and costumes in and on top of the car.
“I always thought acrobatics were amazing and of all the Arts Week activities going on, that is the one I definitely want to go to,” said Carly Ballard, a sophomore majoring in music therapy.
