Recruiter Rewards Program
The Recruiter Rewards Program was designed in 2007 as a way to encourage high school faculty and staff to promote Utah State University. As part of the program, the USU Office of Admissions sends each volunteer an Aggie banner or pennant to hang in their classroom or office, a handbook full of recruitment information, and a pad of referral cards to get started. Each month the volunteers will receive an e-newsletter to help inform them about upcoming recruitment activities for prospective students as well as special happenings on campus. All of these are given to the volunteer to help them feel informed when approaching prospective students.
All we ask of individuals participating is to (1) make announcements in their classes about Utah State recruitment events, (2) find prospective students who are interested in learning more, (3) refer each interested student online though our referral website, (4) and continue a relationship with the students as he/ she learns about what USU has to offer. Special invitations will also be given to the volunteers to attend special recruitment events. They are encouraged to attend these programs when possible.
As volunteers refer students to the Office of Admissions, they will earn points. Upon reaching specific point levels, they will receive Aggie gifts. The Office of Admissions staff will also take special care of each student who is referred by alum. Special invitations will be sent to them to attend recruitment events and they will receive individual attention from the recruitment specialist assigned to their area.
The Recruiter Rewards Program is a great way for alumni who are working in the high school setting to help Utah State University become a better place. Referring students to the university will help increase enrollment, strengthen the tie between alumni and the university, and will change lives. Utah State holds a special place in each alums heart and showing students the difference USU can make in their lives is a fun and rewarding experience.
