About Us
Founded in 2005, Aggie Blue Bikes (ABB) is a community oriented on-campus bicycle rental and repair shop. ABB employs trained mechanics who teach customers how to repair their own bicycles using the student toolboards. The shop also offers long term bicycle rentals, which are available to students free of charge. The shop’s fleet of over 200 rental bikes are built, painted, and maintained in-house by ABB mechanics, primarily using parts salvaged from other bicycles. ABB also sells refurbished bicycles.
Aggie Blue Bikes is a non-elitist and welcoming environment for all skill and interest levels, from folks who are just starting to learn how to ride a bike to people who commute every day to racers and cycling hobbyists. The shop sells basic necessities to keep your bike running, (list of parts for sale and prices can be found here) and ABB mechanics can teach you how to install and adjust them with our student tool boards. Toolboard usage and mechanic help is free for active students, free for youth under 16 years of age, and costs $8 per hour for everyone else. ABB also has a variety of events that are geared towards encouraging more folks to ride bicycles, more often.
Aggie Blue Bikes boasts one of the largest fleets of rental bicycles in the nation with over 200 bicycles in circulation. ABB receives all of its bicycles as donations from the community, often unused and abandoned bicycles that would normally end up in the landfill. Mechanics and volunteers strip, paint, and rebuild the bicycles in house to get them ready for rental. Students can rent these bicycles free of charge for a semester at a time. Due to high demand, bicycle rentals are rented out in a lottery style waitlist. Interested renters should call ABB to get on the waitlist as soon as possible.

Tips
Multi modal transport
Logan’s amazing free bus system, Connect Transit, has bike racks on every bus, meaning you can ride the bus up the hills and then bike back down. Connect is a great resource to use on the days where the hills feel a little too steep or when the weather is extra foul. Taking the bus is also a great way to start getting into commuting by bike without fully committing right away.
Regular maintenance
be sure to keep your tires inflated to the correct pressure and to clean and lube your chain regularly. Bring your bike into Aggie Blue Bikes and our mechanics can show you how to keep your bike working properly all winter.
