Supporting Student Success

The centers within Inclusive Excellence (IE) serve to ensure equity in accessing higher education for students from underrepresented populations. This is achieved through recruitment, enrollment, and retention efforts, including:

  • Collaborating with Admissions on recruitment events designed to support applicants from different backgrounds;
  • Guiding students to financial resources and scholarship opportunities;
  • Connecting students to campus resources;
  • Providing mentoring programs to support academic success;
  • Monitoring student performance and proactively intervening to provide academic support;
  • Providing additional support services specific to the needs of diverse student populations;
  • Offering programming focused on leadership development and professional development;
  • Acting as advocates for students.
  • Supporting faculty, staff and students with disabilities to fully participate in University programs, services, and activities.

Roadmap to Inclusive Excellence

The centers also support the Roadmap to Inclusive Excellence by:

  • Serving as centers for educational materials and connections to resources;
  • Hosting events to develop multicultural awareness;
  • Reporting incidents and trends affecting student populations.

USU prepares students to succeed through exceptional teaching and skills preparation in academic programs fitted to current needs. We provide the personal support learners require to persist and achieve their goals, whether their plans are local or global, workforce, or continuing education.
