A Musical Voyage With Jane Catlin at NEHMA With the Highline Drifters and Friends

Announcing its latest concert in the longstanding Museum + Music Series, the Nora Eccles Harrison Museum of Art at Utah State University presents A Musical Voyage With Jane Catlin: Highline Drifters and Friends from 3-4:30 p.m. April 7 in the gallery of NEHMA.

The Highline Drifters are an energetic Americana group blending bluegrass, acoustic rock, reggae, Afro-pop and funk. With lively rhythms, they offer a dynamic and enjoyable musical experience. Artist Jane Catlin created the setlist and will be present to draw connections between her work and the music being played. Refreshments will be provided. The concert is free and open to all.

Influenced by extensive travels across Japan, Korea, Africa and Canada, Catlin's work reflects a deep fascination with biology, ecology and the environment. Through mysterious imagery, she offers poignant commentary on the world's beauty and fragility.

This exhibition showcases Catlin's most notable works, providing a unique insight into her four-decade exploration of nature and the human experience. The intersection of two distinct art forms was designed to create a harmonious and unforgettable evening.

Eric LaMalfa, singer-songwriter in the Highline Drifters, says: “Any musician will tell you that the energy in the room contributes to the overall experience of the group. What's cool about this event is that Jane Catlin's art provides the backdrop for this collective music and art experience. I expect that the way people in the audience react and interact with both her and the musicians will be fantastic.”
