Coordinated Service Learning

The vision for the Coordinated Service Learning Rotation Program encompasses students acquiring a significantly broader comprehension of an area of study by providing connected, coordinated service to multidisciplinary agencies or entities within the community.  This comprehensive volunteer service will engage students over time to catalyze cooperation and coordination among agencies with very different perspectives.

The purpose of the Coordinated Service Learning Rotation Program is to provide students with a series of related opportunities to:

  • Make a difference in their community.
  • Combine service with long-term academic goals.
  • Enhance knowledge through a coordinated multidisciplinary set of experiences.
  • Increase cultural competency.
  • Earn a greater appreciation of a coordinated community response.
  • Develop an enhanced sense of civic responsibility.

Certificates of Completion for the Coordinated Service Learning Rotation Program are available from the Center for Women and Gender upon completion of a minimum of 48 hours for at least 5 service-learning coordinated sites, together with completion for the Reflections on Your Service form.
