With all the tasks and demands of being a student, it’s hard to give your body the care and credit it deserves. Celebrate your body this week through a variety of nutritional, mental health, and physical activities. Be sure to visit and participate in the Love Your Body Wall in the ARC and the Mirror Display representing students’ experience with body image and eating disorders across dining areas.

Intuitive Eating Workshop

Intuitive Eating is a practice, not a diet. There are 10 principles outlined in Intuitive Eating, however there are no food rules. The goal of Intuitive Eating is to follow your individualized body cues regarding food & nutrition and really understand and honor what your body needs. This workshop will give you an introduction to Intuitive Eating and the 10 principles but also give you some practical skills to start working towards becoming an Intuitive Eater.
Tasty Tuesday

Do you like learning about new, healthy snack ideas? Come try a sample of a delicious snack and get the recipe to make it yourself! New recipes are featured weekly so it is never the same.
What are Eating Disorders? Workshop

Eating disorders are often confused or overlooked due to society's idealization of thin bodies and dieting, but eating disorders are serious, life-threatening mental illnesses. This workshop will explore signs, symptoms, and causes of eating disorders, options for seeking care, and how you can support someone going through an eating disorder.

The affirmation tables will have post-it notes and markers for students to decorate post-it notes with affirmation messages to pass out to others and post around campus. Donuts will also be provided to participants.

Body Acceptance Workshop

Negative body image is a common issue among college students. The term, “body image,” refers to the thoughts, feelings, and beliefs you hold about your body, as well as how they affect your daily life. Body acceptance is a way to build a healthier relationship with your body. In this workshop, we will explore what body image distress and body acceptance is and tools to help you move towards a place of body acceptance.
The Illusionists Documentary Screening + Panel Discussion
5:30 - 8 p.m. | LIB 154
The Illusionists documentary is an award-winning documentary about the globalization of beauty and the dark side of advertising and its impact on body image. The documentary will be screened from 5:30-7pm. From 7-8pm, a panel of experts in various fields that the documentary touches on will discuss their thoughts on the documentary and will answer questions from the audience. Snacks and beverages will be available before and during the screening.
Intuitive Movement Class
4 - 5 p.m. | ARC Loft (3rd floor)
Intuitive movement is being intentional while engaging in movement and listening to your body along the way. This class will be a hybrid of a movement class and a workshop; you will engage in an exercise class, while learning and practicing intuitive movement skills to build a healthier relationship between you, your body, and movement.
Barre & Color

The circuit training approach will help you get more acquainted with your body using a combination of stretching, body weight movements, resistance bands, and free weights. The class goal is to help you be more present in your workouts by listening to your body and exploration of how one can apply this skill to other areas of daily life.

Male Body Positivity Classes

Males also struggle with body image and disordered eating concerns. However, it isn't talked about as much but is still so important to combating diet culture. This class will cover the common areas in which males struggle with body image and how you can start to overcome these thoughts. These classes are put on by senior USU Dietetics students.
Debunking Diet Culture Workshop

Diet culture tells us that our appearance and body shape are more important than physical, psychological, and general well-being. It's the idea that controlling your body, particularly your diet—by limiting what and how much you eat—is normal. This workshop will explore the harmful effects of diet culture, debunk the myths it tells us about our food and bodies, and how to take of ourselves in a world surrounded with diet culture.
Cardio Kickboxing
6 - 7 p.m. | ARC MAC Gym 108 | Registration
Cardio Kickboxing is a mashup of traditional kickboxing moves at a fast pace. You will learn how to do jab, hooks, crosses, uppercuts, back kicks, front kicks, and more for a full body workout. Instructors will pair all of this with fun, high-tempo music, for a class that will leave you sweaty and accomplished.
Eating Disorder Awareness Week
Body image is a common struggle. When behaviors become excessive, these struggles can turn into unhealthy patterns and eating disorders. If you or a student you know are experiencing overwhelming thoughts about body image, food, or movement, USU is here to support you.
February 20-27 is National Eating Disorder Awareness Week. To support and build awareness of resources that can combat eating disorders, Campus Rec and CAPS have partnered to hold this week of Powered by Your Body events.
