Workshop/Training
This group is an opportunity to discuss and support one another within the complicated and varied issues surrounding body liberation, with an emphasis on Body Justice and Fat Liberation, to illuminate the truth and move past societal/cultural messaging in an effort to liberate each individual participant. This group will provide: A safe space to explore societal impacts on group members’ relationship with their bodies, self-image, and health. A safe space to share individual and collective experiences of living in this society; including workplace, dating, family of origin, social media, health systems, etc. A safe space to authentically connect with others around experiences, thoughts, and feelings of living in a thin-obsessed, fat-phobic culture. Resources and information to learn more about the concepts of Body Justice, Fat Liberation, Health At Every Size, etc. This group is open to students, faculty, and staff. Registration is required for all participants.

There seems to be a lot of food guilt when the holidays roll around each year. We
feel like we have to either ignore all of the delicious food and try to eat healthy or
forget healthy eating completely and just indulge in our favorite foods. However, it
is possible to enjoy all the foods the holiday season has to offer and still stay
healthy through the process. Join USU Be Well and Registered Dietitian, Brooke Lister,
as she shares healthy holiday eating tips to leave you feeling satisfied and good in your body without overindulging. Attendance and participation in this event qualifies as an activity for the Be Well Rewards program.

Join USU's Center for Intersectional Gender Studies & Research and the USU Libraries for an "Intersections on Inclusion" panel discussion moderated by Dr. Avery Edenfield. In 2020, USU received the Carnegie Classification for Community Engagement, recognizing USU has great work to do in our communities; as a land grant institution we have the responsibility to the communities in which we are located to honor the mission statement of ‘serving the public through learning, discovery, and engagement and cultivating diversity of thought and culture.’ This panel will center the voices of community leaders and change-makers dedicated to advancing progress toward equity. As we learn from panelists about their community initiatives and advocacy, participants will be invited to reflect on ways they can engage in their communities to ignite change. Biases, Barriers, & Barricades for Utah Women: A Solutions-Based Workshop
Workshop/Training
Although some opportunities abound for women in Utah, there are still many challenges that keep women from contributing and thriving within various settings, including workplaces, educational institutions, politics, government, religious, and in the community at large. This in-person solutions-based workshop will focus on three complex issues in the state: decreasing sexism, increasing women in Utah politics, and stopping sexual assault and domestic violence.
This engaging workshop consists of short panels for each of these issues. After each panel, participants will join in a small groups discussion where ideas for solutions will be discussed and captured. Join us in person as we wrestle through ways to move the needle in terms of biases, barriers, and barricades for Utah women! This event has limited seating. Register to reserve your spot.
