Working Across Generations with Troy Beckert - SEA Development Event

Conference/Seminar

Troy E. Beckert is professor of Human Development and Family Studies at Utah State University. His interests in adolescent development shape a research focus on intergenerational learning, autonomy, and psychosocial issues. His current direction of research allows for contextual assessments including families, cultures, and technology.

Troy will discuss his research with adolescent and parent relationships and how it can be translated in the workplace. He’ll discuss both the differences and similarities between members of each generations and discuss ways to successfully work together.

Immunization and Booster Clinic

Special Event

Be Well and Bear River Health Department are hosting another Immunization and Booster Clinic for employees, their dependents, and students. Registration is required to participate and masks are encouraged for all ages 2 years and older. If you are sick or not feeling well, please stay home and do not attend the Immunization Clinic. For a list of vaccines available and to register, click 'More Info' under Website or visit www.wellness.usu.edu/services/immunization-clinics.

For statewide employees or those not able to attend, vaccinations and immunizations are free for benefitted employees and their eligible dependents. Visit any pharmacy, clinic, or hospital within the Regence BlueCross BlueShield of Utah network. Make sure to present your insurance card at the time of service.

Lunch & Learn - Balance, Variety, and Moderation in Eating

Panel Discussion/Presentation

For a little more than 100 years we have been studying food and the nutrition it provides the human body. From this research nutrition scientists have developed key principles designed to better inform food choices that optimize health. This presentation will discuss a few of these nutrition principles that are designed to help people make better food choices and lifestyle changes. Register today and join April Litchford, USU Extension professor, as she shares practical ways to use balance, variety, and moderation to optimize the nutrients you eat while minimizing your potential for weight gain and development of disease. Lunch & Learn - Aetna: Coping with Anxiety

Panel Discussion/Presentation

How do we tell the difference between normal feelings of stress and symptoms of anxiety? This workshop helps participants understand different types of anxiety and provides tools to notice signs in your own life or the life of someone close to you. This seminar will review anxiety disorders and symptoms, how thoughts and actions contribute to anxiety, and treatment and care of anxiety disorders. Lunch & Learn: Intro to Tai Chi

Recreation

Tai Chi has often be referred to as “meditation in motion”. Tai Chi is a series of slow, intentional movements combined with deep breathing that can increase strength, mobility, balance, and flexibility. It is suited for all ages and fitness levels. Tai Chi has been proven to be effective in fall prevention. Join Cindy Nelson to learn some simple movements and try a new exercise.
