Entrepreneur Leadership Series: Logan James and Ellie Cram
Panel Discussion/Presentation
Logan James and Ellie Cram, current students at Utah State University, are the entrepreneurs behind ThriftJam, a venture they started three years ago to support their college education. What began as a side hustle has rapidly evolved into a full-blown business endeavor that reaches far beyond the confines of campus. With their engagement in the Center for Entrepreneurship, they've wholeheartedly embraced hands-on learning and reshaped their career aspirations. Notably, ThriftJam has now taken precedence as their foremost career plan. This journey underscores their transformative shift from conventional academia to purposeful entrepreneurship.
ThriftJam isn't your average clothing store; it's a mission to redefine fashion with sustainability at its core. Logan and Ellie have transformed three old-school buses into mobile clothing stores, delivering a unique shopping experience. Within these mobile stores, customers find a handpicked selection that includes vintage classics and limited-edition high-end items, each meticulously crafted from discarded textiles that would have otherwise ended up in landfills. Their commitment to salvaging and upcycling textiles has already diverted tens of thousands of pounds of waste, converting it into timeless, high-value clothing that will never contribute to environmental waste.

A partnership of USU's Quinney College of Natural Resources Department of Watershed Sciences and Department of Environment and Society, the Huntsman School of Business Department of Economics and Finance, the College of Humanities and Social Science's Community and Natural Resources Institute, and the President's Office.
Oil and natural gas, wood products, minerals and other resources from the earth have fueled historic growth throughout the world, generated jobs and offered communities a wealth of economic activity. Modern life is literally built on these resources, and continues to rely on them for its upward economic trajectory. But resources have finite limits and our resources and economic activities interact in very complex ways.
