5v5 Basketball League (Registration Deadline)

Register for the Intramural Sports 5v5 Basketball League by midnight, Sunday, January 22.  The league will run from January 30 through March 23.  Divisions: Mens/Womens/Faculty & Staff/Fraternity/Co-Rec Two options to play:  - Purchase an IM membership for $25 for the semester and play as many sports as you want - Purchase a $15 single sports pass Membership/single sports must be purchased first on recportal.usu.edu in order to register.

Progress in Gravitational Wave Discovery and Multi-messenger Astronomy

You are invited to attend a lecture by Dr. Linqing Wen, sponsored by the College of Engineering and the College of Science. Wen obtained her Ph.D. in astrophysics from MIT and is currently a professor of physics at the University of Western Australia. She is one of Australia's top astrophysicists and is currently leading the Gravitational Wave Astronomy group.

VRO / AFROTC Det 860 Ski Night at Beaver Mountain

The Veterans Resource Office (VRO) supports the AFROTC Detachment 860 Ski Night at Beaver Mountain on 25 Jan from 1700-2100. Det 860 has graciously extended an invitation to all members of the VRO. Lift tickets will cost $15 (season passes are not valid) to be purchased upon arrival at the mountain. Rentals for snowboards or skis will be $12, or $20 for the "performance package". Helmet rentals are $10. If renting, you will need a license or credit card for a deposit. Entrepreneur Leadership Series: Marissa Barlow

Marissa Barlow studied entrepreneurship at Utah State University and strategy at BYU. She is an entrepreneur, and co-founder of the swimsuit company, Nani Swimwear. At age 15, while struggling to find a fun yet appropriate swimsuit for a family vacation, Marissa decided to start a company that provided quality, modest, and fashion-forward swimsuits. The Mission of Nani Swimwear is to empower women everywhere to love their bodies, seek adventure, and live a “Nani” life.

Katharine Jacobs is the Director of the Center for Climate Adaptation Science and Solutions (CCASS) at the University of Arizona. She was the director of the National Climate Assessment in the Obama Administration for four years and served as a White House water policy and adaptation advisor.
