Admitted Students Day

Information/Orientation

Don’t Wait to Experience Aggie Life You don't have to wait until the fall to begin your life as an Aggie. Join other admitted students and see what Utah State is all about. Meet with students and faculty from the major you are interested in and find out if it’s the one for you. You'll also have the opportunity to meet representatives from financial aid, student resources, housing, and many more. This is a great way to receive more details about what you need to know as a future Aggie. Register in advance using the provided url. NOTE: Admitted Student Day is not New Student Orientation. New Student Orientation is a required five-module online process that begins March 1 (mid-October for spring semester students) and runs through your first semester at USU. It is designed to give you relevant information when you need it. Orientation details can be found at usu.edu/orientation.

Lecture/Readings

Lecture Title: Tales from the Field of a 20+ Year Bureau of Land Management Career About the Lecture: Allysia is one of fewer than a handful of professionals who hold the title of landscape architect among the Bureau of Land Management workforce of fewer than 10,000 employees. The BLM manages almost a quarter billion acres of public lands (1/10 of US land base) - far more than any other federal land management agency - that span from the Pacific Coast across the deserts and rangelands of the Intermountain West to the Rocky Mountains. She will share successes and challenges from her more than 20 years of working on projects large and small, from her local district (which includes Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument and the Kanab Field Office) in southcentral Utah to as far flung as Alaska. During her public service career, Allysia has had a hand in land use planning, recreation site planning and design, visual resource management, research, interpretive projects, and a host of other random work.
