Lake Powell Kayaking Trip
Recreation
We are heading down south to the amazing red rock and blue waters of Lake Powell to explore some of its many side canyons in sea kayaks. We will pack our kayaks with our gear and spend two nights camping on the lake. Participants must be able to swim and comfortable in open water. Trip cost includes sales tax, food, transportation, kayak equipment, tent, sleeping bag, pad and student leadership.
Intermountain Biological Engineering Conference (IBEC)

Join us for our 5th annual intermountain conference! We will have keynote speakers, oral and poster competitions, industry mentorship, lab tours, and more! This year the event is taking place in-person at Utah State University and will provide opportunities for students, professors, and industry professionals to interact and learn.
USUSA Toy Drive
Student Activities
USUSA is accepting new or gently used toys, books, puzzles, board games, etc. Toys can be brought to the front desk at the Utah State University Salt Lake Campus or to respective statewide locations. Legacy of Val Day of Service: Loaves & Fishes Community Meal
Special Event
Honor the legacy of Val Christensen by pitching in at the Loaves & Fishes Community Meal! Volunteers will be prepping and serving food, bussing tables, washing dishes, and helping set up and take down. Most volunteers are needed on Saturday, but there are a few slots to fill on Friday night for prep. Loaves & Fishes is non-denominational, but takes place inside First Presbyterian Church in Logan because there is a commercial kitchen there. Volunteers are enthusiastically encouraged to grab a plate and sit next to community members that they might not ever meet outside of this free meal.
Tree Planting at Wuda Ogwa

Seeking Volunteers for a Tree Planting Event on Saturday, November 4, 2023!
Join our partners with the Northwestern Band of the Shoshone Nation to help plant cottonwoods, willows, dogwoods, and other native plants at the Wuda Ogwa restoration site.
The event will be held from 9am to 3pm just north of Preston, ID (roughly 2 hours from Salt Lake City, UT -or- 40 minutes from Logan, UT).
Participants are encouraged to bring their own shovels, work gloves, lunch, and reusable water bottles. Water and snacks will be provided. We’re looking forward to volunteering and hope that you’ll join us!

Día de Los Muertos Ofrenda

Día de Los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, is a celebration of life and death that connects family members and allows many to grow closer with their loved ones. NEHMA highlights this tradition by creating a large ofrenda (offering table) in the lobby of the museum. On display are calaveras (decorated skulls), photos, food, candles, and marigold flowers to represent different kinds of ofrendas. People are welcome to dedicate a small portion of that ofrenda to someone they lost by writing their name on the ofrenda wall. Come visit the Nora Eccles Harrison Museum of Art and our Día de Los Muertos ofrenda!
Intramural 3v3 Indoor Soccer Tournament

Learn about the history and origins of Veteran's Day around the world, do crafts and activities, and explore a temporary exhibit from Bringing War Home, a project dedicated to sharing wartime objects and the stories that surround them.

Join us to celebrate an exciting new partnership between USU's College of Engineering and The Leonardo museum in Salt Lake City. On Nov 4, The Leonardo will welcome all USU alumni and their families to visit the museum free of charge. The College of Engineering will unveil several new exhibits showcasing exciting new research in areas of aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, biological engineering, and more.

The word "muse" describes a source of inspiration. This annual music therapy concert aims to highlight the multi-faceted sources of inspiration for USU music therapy students both personally and professionally. In our field of study, we often talk about “self as instrument”, or rather, being the instrument of change within the therapeutic relationship. During MUSES, we get to shift our focus to also celebrate our external musical skills and instruments as extensions of ourselves, and the tools by which we get to share creative self-expression with the world. Concert goers will enjoy original compositions in addition to contemporary and classical pieces that have been intentionally chosen to represent the experiences of our students and potential clinical applications of these works in music therapy practice. Additionally, attendees may have the opportunity to get involved first-hand with our interactive lobby experience before the performance. For more information, visit www.usumtsa.weebly.com.
