Alumni Exhibition Tiana Godfrey and Tiny Houses

Exhibition

The opening exhibition of the academic year features paintings created by Art+Design BFA alumni Tiana Godfrey along with Tiny Houses created by students in the Interior Architecture and Design Program. The Tiny Houses assignment is a component of the Architectural Graphics and CADD courses, and the project outline is simple: design a small residence for two people, approximately 500 sqft per level. The residence must have more than one level, be built in Utah, and meet all residential building codes. The students create presentation drawings, a three-dimensional model, set of construction documents, and interior and exterior renderings of their custom design.

AI Revolution: From Machines to Morals

How do we act ethically in the age of Artificial Intelligence? With the revolution of machine learning comes the struggle to use it morally for the common good. To address these issues, the USU Communication Studies and Philosophy Department with the Center for Anticipatory Intelligence presents this year’s Tanner Series Lectures from the Dean of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences. This conference series brings top scholars from philosophy, the humanities, and the sciences for an interdisciplinary discussion that focuses on machine learning, emerging technology, policy, and ethical dimensions of AI programs.

Logan Canyon Rock Climbing

Recreation

Come spend a few hours rock climbing up in Logan Canyon. We will meet at the OP and drive up the canyon to experience some of the many climbs right in our campus backyard. This is a great opportunity to learn some of the routes in Logan Canyon or try climbing for the first time. No experience necessary, beginners welcome. Trip Cost includes transportation, climbing equipment, and student leadership. Space is limited so sign up today!
