Stream and Riparian Restoration Volunteer Project

Special Event

The Berryman Institute is sponsoring a field trip to join Sageland Collaborative for a day in the field building BDAs (Beaver Dam Analogs). All undergraduate students are welcome to join this field trip for a fun day of hands-on learning!

You will need to bring a water bottle and lunch and wear appropriate clothing for a day working outside.

To attend, follow these 3 easy steps by September 20:

Send an email to me (Julie.young@usu.edu) and Richard Evans (Richard.evans@usu.edu) saying you are signing up. We need an accurate count for the rental vehicle reservations.

Fill out the Sageland Collaborative google document on their website (https://sagelandcollaborative.org/riverscape-restoration). You can also fund it by clicking here. Please be sure to select 'Sept 28' as the date.

Show up under the bridge in front of the NR building at 7am on September 28 to hop in the USU vehicles and go!

Moab Paddling & Camping

We are heading down south near Moab to spend the weekend playing on the Colorado River in the Moab area. We will enjoy our nights camped in beautiful red rock country while we paddle the rapids of the Moab Daily section. Participants must be able to swim and prepared for fun on the water. Trip cost includes: food, transportation, campground fees, river equipment, tent, sleeping bag, sleeping pad and student leadership.

Sweat Day

Get ready to SWEAT! We're hosting the 3rd annual Sweat Day on September 28th. Starting in the MAC Gym with a warmup and group picture, you are then given a schedule for all the different group fitness classes that will be offered during the event - rotating every 45 minutes. Registration gives each participant a Sweat Day t-shirt, free snacks, and admission into all classes for the event. Stay for the whole event or pick a few to go to. Classes offered will range from spin to yoga to surge. Free with group fitness pass or $5 without. Register before or sign up day of.

Join us on Saturday, September 28th at the Merrill-Cazier Library to discuss "On Earth We're Briefly Gorgeous" by Ocean Vuong. This is guaranteed to be a fascinating discussion and a wonderful opportunity to connect with other book worms!

Fall Stampede Rodeo

USU Rodeo Club's Fall Stampede Rodeo is back! From barrel racing to roping they'll have it all. Schools from around the Mountain West will come out to compete for the top spot. Tickets can be bought online or at the fairgrounds. Student tickets are $5 w/student ID! Dates are Friday, September 27th with a 7pm start and Saturday, September 28th with a 7pm start. Located at the Cache County Fairgrounds.
