Interview Practice (HH 326): Knowing the principles of good interview methods is good, but putting them into practice is essential. Come learn from other students who have successfully completed interviews and practice what you have learned.

Shingo Club Meeting: Lean-Six Sigma Green Belt Certification Training

Workshop/Training

The Shingo Club  (defacto Operations and Supply Chain Student Club) will be hosting a lean six-sigma green belt certification this semester.  The certification will require students to attend training every other week on Wed nights 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm starting on Wed Jan 15th.  We will be meeting in Huntsman Hall 322.

The cost is $125 which includes the cost for the training, textbook, examination, and certification.  This is totally a steal, it is usually several thousands of dollars for this training.  Our instructor does a great job and we will have a dinner for every meeting included in the cost.

Davis Smith, CEO of Cotopaxi
Davis is an adventure brand with a humanitarian mission. He is a member of the UN’s Global Leadership Council and one of President Bill Clinton’s and George W. Bush’s “Presidential Leadership Scholars.” Davis was Silicon Valley Community Foundation’s “CEO of the Year” and previously started Brazil’s “Startup of the Year.” Davis holds an MBA from the Wharton School, an
MA from the University of Pennsylvania, and a BA from Brigham Young University. Davis is an adventurer who has floated the Amazon on a self-made raft, kayaked from Cuba to Florida, and explored North Korea.

Hansen Differential Tuition Scholarship Application Deadline

Date/Deadline

The Hansen Charitable Trust has established a scholarship to assist undergraduate Huntsman School of Business students with differential tuition. Awards are offered each semester, based on need, to students who are not already covered by full-tuition scholarships. The application is open the first two weeks of each semester (fall and spring) and money is applied to that semester’s tuition. Apply online.

Eric is the Chief Information Officer at Utah State University and Faculty in the Huntsman School of Business. Stephen was the CIO for the State of Utah from 2005-2012 and has since been working in consulting and in Washington DC leading the National Public Safety Broadband Network.

Entrepreneur Leadership Series - Mel Torrie

Mel Torrie, Founder, President, and CEO of Autonomous Solutions Inc.
Mr. Torrie grew up on a farm in Alberta Canada and earned a master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Utah State University. Mr. Torrie then taught at Utah State University and worked on multiple NASA Space Shuttle payloads. 20 years ago he spun out the university’s robotics lab to make driverless vehicles a reality in industries like agriculture, mining, construction, security, material handling, and automotive. Other businesses he’s started with his wife include a restaurant, school of rock/jazz, and a non-profit foundation for disadvantaged youth in Central America. Mel has been an invited keynote speaker and trainer on the topics of Leadership, Entrepreneurship, Robotics, and STEM education in countries like Egypt, Russia, China, Japan, Croatia, Germany, South Africa, and Australia

This is a private leadership forum with David C. Roskelley for only Covey Leadership Fellows (CLF). CLF members have a unique opportunity to sit down with David in a private forum to learn about how to elevate your leadership and participate in a special Q/A session. Join CLF.

David Roskelley is an avid mountain climber. He has climbed the "7 Summits," or the highest mountain on each continent, and the "7 Volcanic Summits," the highest volcano on each continent. David's next goal is to be the first person to climb the highest mountain on the moon.

David Roskelley is also the founding partner at engineering-consulting service R&R Environmental, Inc. The firm serves clients throughout the United States and Canada. David has a Masters degree in Public Health with an emphasis in Industrial Hygiene from the University of Utah/Rocky Mountain Center for Occupational and Environmental Health (RMCOEH) and currently teaches as an adjunct faculty member.
