Intermountain Growth Summit

Conference/Seminar

DESCRIPTION: The Intermountain Growth Summit (IGS) is the premiere forum for small- to medium-size enterprises (SMEs) that represent 99.9% of all businesses in the Intermountain West. The purpose of the IGS is to connect these often overlooked enterprises with the critical resources they need to enhance their brand, accelerate their growth, create new jobs, and expand their presence in the region and beyond.
The IGS is the only event of its kind in the Intermountain region that links SMEs with the resources, contacts, partnerships, and education required to significantly enhance company performance and growth.

WHO IS COMING: 300+ attendees, including entrepreneurs, innovators, business owners, managers, and community leaders who want to expand their enterprises; and numerous individuals and supporting organizations that help facilitate growth, including government officials, academic experts, business consultants, bankers, angel investors, private equity groups, venture capitalists, marketing experts, attorneys, HR advisors, and nonprofit executives.

Biological Engineering Dept. Seminar Series

Conference/Seminar

Biological Engineering is pleased to welcome from Quansys Biosciences - Mr. Adam Brown, CEO; Dr. Brett Baumgartner, R&D; and Mr. Chris Lyman.

Presenting: "Seroprevalence of SARS-CoV-2 studied using a Novel Multiplex ELISA Platform"

A novel multiplex platform for enzyme linked immunoassay (ELISA) has been used to study seroprevalence of antibodies to SARS-CoV-2 in community populations. The assay detects antibodies to Spike 1, Spike 2, and Nucleocapsid epitopes on the SARS-CoV-2 virus. The relative levels of these antibodies, accompanied by a questionnaire, can indicate status of vaccination or prior infection. This platform is being used by University of Minnesota, Minnesota Health Department, and the National Opinion Research Center (NORC) at University of Chicago to examine seroprevalence of antibodies to COVID-19 in Minnesota.

A meet and greet will be immediately following in ENGR 101.

We will develop an algorithm, perhaps the exact one the Babylonians are credited for, and then explore iterative maps, Newton’s method, fixed points and an existence theorem.

This presentation is based on the first chapter of Dynamical Systems by Shlomo Sternberg (2010, Dover).
