Gender in the Skilled Trades - Panel Discussion
Panel Discussion/Presentation
USU Moab Technical Education will be hosting a Panel Discussion on Gender in the Trades.
Skilled Trades provide a pathway to a career with financial security and fulfillment. However, homophobia, transphobia, sexual harassment and sexism can be barriers for women and other sexual and gender minorities. This panel will share their experiences navigating barriers as well as ways they have found their community and success in the trades. Please pre-register for this broadcasted panel discussion. This event is sponsored by: The USU Center for Intersectional Gender Studies and Research and USU Moab Technical Education.
Sentinels Exhibition Opening Reception
Arts/Entertainment
The Last Glacier Collective is a collaboration of artists that work to present their concern for the global future through artistic imagery. Sentinels includes 12 large woodcuts by artists Todd Anderson and Bruce Crownover and three “word paintings” by scientist Gary Machlis. The artists are excited to display Sentinels in the region that inspired its creation, reinforcing that the arts and sciences can further engage the public with the natural and cultural heritage of Bears Ears and Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monuments. Previous works by the Last Glacier Collective are in the collections of the Getty Museum, Yale and Stanford Universities, the U.S. Library of Congress, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art, among many others.
