Lunch & Learn - Food Allergies vs Food Sensitivities: What's The Difference?

USU Be Well and Registered Dietitian, Brooke Lister, present a lunch and learn on the differences between food allergies and sensitivities. Food allergies and sensitivities are becoming more common in today’s world. Approximately 32 million people in the US have diagnosed food allergies. However, there are many more people that seem to struggle with food sensitivities. There are a couple of key differences between food allergies and food intolerances so it is important that we are able to recognize those differences and how to appropriately treat both. This presentation will go over the similarities and differences between food allergies and sensitivities and steps to take to determine any food sensitivities you may have. *Presentation will be available in person and virtually and will be recorded. This three-day event provides a hands-on deep dive into the teaching tools and methodologies of online, virtual, and hybrid instruction. Day 1: Sessions on digital pedagogy and instructor presence. Day 2: Breakout sessions on edtech teaching tools and practical applications of instructional approaches from USU instructors and instructional professionals. Day 3: Culminates in each participant designing an activity for their own course, and access to other useful resources than can be immediately implemented.

Sleep is an essential part of daily life. It helps us to stay focused, remember things and keeps us energized and able to face the tasks of the day. This training looks at what is considered “normal” sleep, things that might indicate a sleeping disorder, lifestyle influences on sleep, ways to increase your chances of getting a good night’s sleep, and where to go for more information. *Presentation will not be recorded. CIDI Workshop - Create Custom Message Campaigns with Delphinium

Delphinium adds a graphical presentation to your Canvas content and adds some game elements to help increase student engagement. It also provides a feature to message students using a form letter approach so you can quickly email students who meet certain criteria and include their name and number of points they have earned to date.
