Seniors in the Art + Design Bachelor of Fine Arts program at Utah State University will present their works during a capstone exhibition. The show includes seniors from various artistic disciplines, including drawing & painting, photography, printmaking, ceramics, sculpture, and art education. The work in the exhibition represents a culmination of refined skills, ideas, and perspectives that took students several years to develop and master.
This exhibition is free and open to the public and runs April 1–12. The Tippetts & Eccles Galleries is located in the Fine Arts Center and is open Monday–Friday from 9–5 p.m.
Pathways to Public Service with Public Policy Leaders in Agriculture
Panel Discussion/Presentation
Featured panelists will discuss and take your questions regarding pathways and opportunities for internships and careers in the broad arena of agriculture. Panelists are: Utah Representative Scott Chew & Tami Chew; Tammy Pearson, Beaver County Commissioner; and Terry Camp, Vice President of Public Policy for Utah Farm Bureau. Following the panel discussion, attendees are invited to stay, meet and talk with the panelists. Faculty & students are invited and asked to RSVP at the link provided. Refreshments will be served. Paul Wiebel's journey is a testament to entrepreneurial vision and community dedication. As the Chairman of the Board of Econo-Pak, situated in Milford, PA, Wiebel has been at the helm of a company specializing in high-volume food packaging for some of the world's largest and rapidly emerging food corporations. Hailing from Parsippany, New Jersey, Paul's roots in entrepreneurship trace back to his youth as a dedicated Boy Scout for 12 years, achieving the esteemed rank of Silver Scout.
After graduating from Utah State, Wiebel founded Econo-Pak in the basement of his parent's home, a humble beginning that would eventually burgeon into a major enterprise. Over the years, he expanded Econo-Pak's operations from East Hanover to Franklin, NJ, finally acquiring a facility in Sussex, NJ, which he transformed into 1 Wiebel Plaza in 1978. Settling in Sussex County in 1979, Paul became an integral part of the community, actively contributing through initiatives like founding the Wiebel Family Foundation, dedicated to supporting local charities. Currently residing in Sparta, NJ, Paul Wiebel remains a prominent figure, not only in the business world but also as a philanthropist and community leader.
In 2014, Paul Wiebel elevated Econo-Pak's operations by moving to a state-of-the-art food packaging facility in Milford, PA, reflecting his commitment to innovation and growth. Beyond his success with Econo-Pak, Paul also manages various industrial properties within Sussex County, showcasing his diverse impact on the local business landscape.
American Society of Civil Engineers Intermountain Southwest Student Symposium

The Intermountain Southwest Student Symposium will host its largest gathering yet, welcoming over 420 Civil and Environmental Engineering students and more than 80 professionals from 16 universities across 5 states to the USU Logan Campus. Set to be the largest event within the College of Engineering, attendees can expect a showcase of unparalleled talent and innovation. Spectators will be captivated by an impressive display of engineering strength and technical prowess through a variety of large-scale competitions, including Steel Bridge, Timber Strong, and the always thrilling Concrete Canoe races. Attendees will also showcase their knowledge in Sustainable Solutions, Surveying, Construction Institute, Transportation, Environmental Design, and the engaging Concrete Bowling.
All events are scheduled to take place on campus, except canoe races will be held at the picturesque Hyrum Reservoir.

Performed by USU voice and orchestra students. Sung in English for maximal humoral effect!

Aggie Recreation Triathlon

Join us for our Campus Rec Triathlon on April 13! The race will be a 55 yards swim (11 laps), 12mi cycle on a spin bike, and then a 5k run. There will be 4 wave times at 8:30am, 9:15am, 10am, and 10:45am. All registrants get a shirt and race bib. There will be postrace food as well as various food and water stations throughout the race. Awards will be given to the top three male and top three female finishers. We will also be doing a giveaway for who has the best Aggie Spirit! Come out showing your Aggie Spirit by dressing in all the USU attire, paint your hair/body, or whatever ideas you come up with! The winner will be voted on during the award ceremony by all participants. We will have raffle items after the award ceremony, so make sure to stick around to see if your bib number is called. Weber County 4-H Cooking Challenge

A team of two members or an individual contestant will prepare and complete a dish highlighting the challenge ingredient. Dish must be completed and presented to the judges within a 40-minute timeframe. Contestants must prepare one complete plates of the dish for the judges. Contestants can prepare an appetizer, main course or a dessert. Contestants will have up to 3 minutes to: • describe the dish presented • tell how they highlighted the challenge ingredient • share some facts/knowledge about the challenge ingredient. Entries: Contestants may enter as an individual or a team of two. State level competition is open to only intermediate (6th-8th graders) and Senior (9th-12th graders) 4-H members at the state level. All grades divisions are as of Sept. 1 of each 4-H year.

The USU Flight Team and Aviation Technology will be hosting the annual Hangar Hop on April 13, 2024 from 7pm-11pm at the large USU Hangar FL9. The aircraft hangar will be transformed into a 1940's USO style hangar with live band music, a large 60' parachute overhead, and vintage aircraft for photos. Dress in period costume! Cost is $15 per person. All proceeds go to support the USU Flight Team's participation in regional competition. Light refreshments are provided. COME DANCE THE NIGHT AWAY!

Magic, secret identities, and conflict abound inn William Shakespeare's "The Tempest". Prospero uses magic to conjure a storm and torment the survivors of a shipwreck, including the King of Naples and Prospero’s treacherous brother, Antonio. Prospero’s slave, Caliban, plots to rid himself of his master, but is thwarted by Prospero’s spirit-servant Ariel. The King’s young son Ferdinand, thought to be dead, falls in love with Prospero’s daughter Miranda. Come experience the intrigue, the magic, and see for yourself how all will resolve.
USU Opera Presents: L'elisir d'Amore

One of the highlights of the bel canto repertoire with its sublime music and humorous plot, Donizetti’s comic opera L'elisir d'amore follows the attempts of the hapless Nemorino who relies on a fake love potion to win the beautiful Adina's hand in marriage. Performed by USU voice and orchestra students. Sung in English for maximal humoral effect!
