Lake Powell Kayaking
Recreation
We are heading down south to the amazing red rock and blue waters of Lake Powell to explore some of its many side canyons in sea kayaks. We will pack our kayaks with our gear and spend two nights camping on the lake. Participants must be able to swim and comfortable in open water. Trip cost includes sales tax, food, transportation, kayak equipment, tent, sleeping bag, pad and student leadership.

Día de Los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, is a celebration of life and death that connects family members and allows many to grow closer with their loved ones. NEHMA highlights this tradition by creating a large ofrenda (offering table) in the lobby of the museum. On display are calaveras (decorated skulls), photos, food, candles, and marigold flowers to represent different kinds of ofrendas. People are welcome to dedicate a small portion of that ofrenda to someone they lost by writing their name on the ofrenda wall. Come visit the Nora Eccles Harrison Museum of Art and our Día de Los Muertos ofrenda!

The Bear Lake Needs Assessment Documentation & Visualization Project, led by assistant professor Jared Ragland and USU photography students, captures the intersection of Bear Lake's natural ecology and human use through documentary photography. This collaborative project showcases research-driven imagery on key topics such as agriculture, water management, and development, while highlighting the vital work of USU researchers and local community partnerships. The exhibition will be featured at the Tippets and Eccles Gallery and in USU’s Special Collections and Archives. This work was created in partnership with USU’s Institute for Land, Water, and Air and funded by a Bear Lake Needs Assessment grant administered by Utah Forestry, Fire, and State Lands.
The USU Art + Design Annual Graduate Art Exhibition showcases emerging artists' innovative and diverse works across various disciplines. Each work reflects the unique vision and creative journey of the graduates, offering a compelling exploration of contemporary themes and artistic practices.
These exhibitions run Nov. 4–Dec. 6 in the Tippetts & Eccles Galleries, open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m.–5 p.m.

The USU Percussion Ensembles concert is a unique and fun addition to the lineup of concerts presented by the Caine College of the Arts. Each semester, we play a wide-array of literature from contemporary percussion ensemble to pieces for world percussion. This semester’s concert will feature works from composers Adam Silverman, David Gillingham, Blake Tyson, Phillip Glass, Dave Hall, and Brett Dietz. The concert is open to all ages and will interesting for students and adults alike.

Cache Symphony Orchestra

The Cache Symphony Orchestra was created over 35 years ago as a way for community members in the Cache Valley region to make music, meet with fellow musicians, and provide another source of fine classical music to the community.
The Orchestra is made up of community volunteers. It started with only a handful of musicians and has grown to a grand symphony with over 90 members. For the regular season, the orchestra performs on the campus of Utah State University twice a year: winter and spring.

November 9 (at NEHMA): Margaret Bruton Terrazzo Art Along with her two sisters Esther and Helen, Margaret Bruton left her native San Francisco to study at the Art Students’ League in NYC. Known collectively as the “Famous Bruton Sisters”, they were part of the Bohemian Renaissance in early twentieth-century San Francisco. Make a terrazzo inspired art piece with us to celebrate Bruton and her work, Untitled, featured in our museum.
Intramural 3v3 Soccer Tournament

Get your team together and ready to compete in our Intramural 3v3 indoor soccer tournament. Registration is all done in the Fusion Play app and will open on October 28th and close on November 5th. Free with an IM membership or just $15 with a single sports pass.

The Faculty Chamber Concert features CCA Music Faculty in an evening performance of chamber music. This year’s event will feature the music of Franz Liszt, Gregory Wanamaker, Dmitri Shostakovich and Mel Bonis featuring French horn, flute, saxophone, clarinet, cello and voice.
