USU Be Well and Extension's Empowering Financial Wellness Program present a lunch and learn to organize your financial paperwork for easier access. You want to grab financial and personal identification documents at a moment’s notice, but you don’t know what documents to keep, where to keep them, or how to organize them. Meet your HIRO! A Household Information Records Organizer system keeps all of your financial records organized and easily accessible. Join us to learn how to organize financial documents for easy access, create a secure storage system for your personal documents and stay organized after you’ve created a system for all the paperwork in your life. *Presentation will be recorded. Attendance and participation in this event qualify as an activity for the Be Well Rewards program.

Trans Allies on Campus

Workshop/Training

Trans/Nonbinary Allies on Campus aims to increase awareness and understanding of our trans/nonbinary community and further understand specific trans/nonbinary issues while training participants to stand with, and advocate for trans/nonbinary individuals. Participants will gain a basic understanding of sex, sexuality, and gender and how these concepts perpetuate microaggressions, discrimination policies, and daily biases. Prepare to dispel some common myths, laugh, and leave with the understanding that there is much work to be done in our community and you are part of the solution. Registration is required to receive the zoom link.

Ecology Center Data Science Workshop Series

The Ecology Center provides free, graduate student-led workshops on programming for data analysis. Sessions are held on Tuesdays at 3:00PM in NR 204, and are designed for beginners in the topic. Most workshops are focused on R, but we cover Python and Gooogle Earth Engine as well. Please bring your own computer. In Part 2, of this workshop series on Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD), learn the psychology of thriving in winter. We will help you to identify unhealthy thinking patterns that significantly contribute to SAD and shape them up! We will also learn classical conditioning principles and apply them to help you make a healthy and enjoyable Winter Plan. Cognitive therapy is an evidence-based approach to treating SAD and also very useful for those of us who just don't care much for winter!

Lunch & Learn - Holiday Cooking Demo: Simple Side Dishes

USU Be Well and Dining Services present a Holiday Cooking Demo with Registered Dietitian, Brooke Lister. The holidays are centered around family and food, especially what we consider “comfort” foods. It is important that we honor our bodies and our food choices around the holidays and allow ourselves to eat the foods that sound appealing to us. However, we can lighten up some traditional holiday side dishes to get more balance with our meals. Come and learn how to make two staple holiday side dishes that are simple but bursting with flavor! Free samples will be available for the first 75 people in attendance. *Presentation will only be offered in person but will be recorded and available on the USU Be Well YouTube channel. Attendance and participation in this event qualify as an activity for the Be Well Rewards program.*
