Bio

Within medical sociology, my work broadly focuses on the social factors that contribute to health disparities. My work underscores the importance of understanding the sources of inequality as ubiquitous, therefore, I focus on unique and interactive effects of adversities associated with one’s social location and identity, and the ways they influence physical and mental health. My research largely draws upon my expertise in survey research and advanced quantitative data analysis, and covers two areas: (1) the reciprocal association between social factors and nutrition-related health issues; and (2) infectious and chronic disease prevention and management among vulnerable populations.
