Bio

Lianne Wappett brings 20 years of industry experience creating tech brands and digital experiences to the Jon M. Huntsman School of Business. Her expertise in brand strategy, digital marketing, design, and communications helped build brands such as Children’s Miracle Network, Wilson Sporting Goods, Walgreens, Intel, AskJeeves, and Iomega.

Lianne’s interests lie in emerging and established technology and how design enhances user experiences and retention. Recently she received a fellowship to study contemporary art and design in Beijing and Xi’an, China. Her research investigates the cultural connections and affective atmospheres art and design generate in public spaces, online communities, and formal venues like art galleries. Lianne is the Academic Director of Huntsman Scholars and a Scholar Mentor, co-advisor to the Women in Business Association, and was recently awarded the 2020 Huntsman Teacher of the Year and the 2021 Huntsman Undergraduate Faculty Mentor of the Year. Prior to coming to the Huntsman School, Lianne taught at the University of Idaho.
