Conditions
- This scholarship will pay towards undergraduate tuition at the Logan Campus only
- This scholarship is available for 4 years (8 semesters)
- This scholarship will pay general student body fees for the duration of the award.
- This scholarship will pay 100% of differential tuition charges for the duration of the award.
- This scholarship is contingent upon participation in the Ambassador Program. Your scholarship can be renewed up to an additional seven semesters. By remaining in good standing within the program, your scholarship will pay full tuition and student body fees each semester. The amount of your award may be adjusted if program requirements are not met.
Award Retention Requirements
- A 3.0 or greater USU Institutional GPA is required to maintain your award
- If UT residency is not established after your first year, you will be responsible for paying nonresident tuition for future semesters or until such time that you establish UT residency.
- To retain this award, 24 credits must be earned between fall and spring semesters. To meet this requirement, you are encouraged to enroll full-time (12-18 credits) each semester. To accommodate course registration, this award will pay at 9+ credits. If you are only enrolling one semester during the academic year, you must earn a minimum of 12 credits that semester to retain this award.
Accepting Your Award
- Scholarship automatically accepted upon enrollment confirmation
Declining Your Award
- If you confirm your enrollment to USU but prefer to decline your award, email Office of Admissions.
Deferral and Notification of Leave
- Scholarships may be held to a future semester for extenuating illness, military, or humanitarian service
- Deferment must be processed through the Office of Admissions. A deferral is for admitted students who have not started classes at USU.
- To hold this award, submit a Notification of Leave. A Notification of Leave is for current USU students who need to take a leave of absence from the university. Students who have have only completed concurrent enrollment classes should use the deferral process.
Terms of Award
Student is either a US citizen, permanent resident of the United States, naturalized citizen of the United States, or resides in Utah and is eligible for HB144/HB118.
The scholarship is applied in consecutive semesters (excluding summer semester) beginning the first term of enrollment at USU unless a Deferment or Notification of Leave has been submitted.
Any unpaid expenses may result in the loss of their classes. Review payment deadlines.
Tuition can only be covered once. If the student has been offered tuition-based academic scholarships or waivers covering in total more than 100% tuition, they will contact Student Financial Support to discuss their options. This scholarship is not a cash award. After 100% of tuition charges are paid, any remaining balance of this award will be not be refunded to the student.
If the student has previously received an academic scholarship, the new offer replaces the previous academic award.
This scholarship may be revoked should the student attend another institution of higher education. The student is able to attend another institution of higher education during the summer semester, but attending during the normal academic year (fall/spring) may result in the cancellation of this award.
