Troy Maxson is a former star of the Negro baseball league who now works as a garbage man in 1957 Pittsburgh. Troy was excluded from the major leagues during his prime, and his bitterness takes its toll on his relationships with his wife and his son, who now wants his own chance to play ball. Winner of the Pulitzer Prize for Drama and the Tony Award for Best Play, FENCES is the sixth play in August Wilson's ten-part "Pittsburgh Cycle." Movie Equivalent Rating: PG-13
