Dean Search: College of Engineering

Faculty Awards Ceremony
On March 27th, the Office of the Provost and the Office of Research came together to host the highly anticipated 2024 Faculty Awards Ceremony, an occasion dedicated to celebrating and paying tribute to the remarkable contributions of our faculty in teaching, research, Extension, and service. This annual event embodies the spirit of recognition and excellence in an Academy-Awards-style presentation where nominees from various colleges await the announcement of the university recipient. Honors Book Lab Showcase April 16, 2024 3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Via Zoom The Summer and Fall 2024 Honors Book Lab Showcase will be held on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, from 3:00-4:00 p.m. on Zoom. Honors Book Labs meet four times (one hour per week during the second through fifth weeks of each term). Honors buys the books for students and faculty and runs the registration process through the Honors website. We invite interested faculty to attend the Honors Book Lab Showcase to see what colleagues are reading and to consider proposing a future lab.
Honors Faculty Appreciation Social April 23, 2024 4:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. Logan Country Club’s Sage room We invite all faculty to our annual Honors Faculty Appreciation Social on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, from 4:30-6:00 p.m. in the Logan Country Club’s Sage room. Please join us for street tacos, chips and salsa, and a cash bar to celebrate the end of the academic year and to thank all faculty for their support of the University Honors Program and our students. 
Honors Medallion Ceremony and Reception May 1, 2024 3:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.  Eccles Conference Center We invite all faculty to attend the 2024 Honors Medallion Ceremony in celebration of the University Honors Program’s 2023-2024 graduates. The ceremony will take place on May 1, 2024, from 3:00-4:30 p.m. in the Eccles Conference Center, immediately followed by a reception on the Quad. Faculty are encouraged (but not required) to wear regalia. For planning purposes, we request an RSVP, particularly for those planning to attend the social on the Quad.
eLearnX Experiential Training for Digital-Age Teaching May 20, 2024 – May 22, 2024  9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.  Huntsman Hall (Logan Campus)

The eLearnX event is jointly sponsored by the Center for Empowering Teaching Excellence (ETE) and the Center for Instructional Design and Innovation (CIDI). This three-day event offers an immersive experience delving into the intricacies of online, virtual, and hybrid instruction.

Here's a breakdown of what to expect:

Day 1: Dive into digital pedagogy and strategies for enhancing instructor presence.

Day 2: Engage in interactive breakout sessions covering edtech teaching tools and real-world applications of instructional approaches led by USU instructors and educational experts.

Day 3: Cap off the event by crafting a custom activity for your own course, along with access to a treasure trove of additional resources ready for immediate implementation.
