USU Athletics Begins Phased Security Check, Bag Search for 2019-20

Utah State University is implementing a phased security check, including a bag search, at football and men’s basketball games during the 2019-20 season to ensure public safety and enjoyable experience for all guests. Fans are encouraged to arrive early to ensure smooth entry.

WHAT IS THE BAG SEARCH POLICY?
All bags brought to the venues are subject to search. Authorized personnel will ask guests to open each bag and display its contents. Prohibited items will not be allowed into the venue.

CAN I BRING MORE THAN ONE BAG INTO THE VENUE?
Each ticketed guest is limited to carry one bag (12x12x6 inch) plus a small clutch purse (4.5 x 6.5 inch).
 
CAN I BRING A BLANKET AND EXTRA JACKET/CLOTHING INTO THE VENUE?
Guests may carry these items into the venues; however, folded items are subject to search.

CAN I BRING DIAPER BAGS OR MEDICAL BAGS INTO THE VENUE?
Diaper bags and medical bags are permitted and are subject to search.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I BRING AN ITEM THAT IS NOT PERMITTED?
Guests carrying any prohibited item(s) will not be permitted into the venue. Authorized personnel will dispose of any item(s) left at the venue gates.

CAN I BRING A CLEAR BAG?
Guests with a 12x12x6 inch clear bag or a one-gallon size clear and sealable bag will be expedited through the bag search process.

• Alcohol                   
• Tobacco, Smoking, or E-Cigarettes            
• Non-service animals
• Artificial Noisemakers               
• Firework or laser pointers                     
• Bicycles, scooters, skateboards
• Camera lenses greater than 4 inches fully extended                               
• Monopods, bipods or tripods
• Stadium chairs with legs or lawn chairs              
• Coolers, glass, aluminum or metal containers
• Drones or remote-controlled devices                
• Bags greater than 12x12x6 inches         
• Outside food or drink                
• Personal heaters (Propane)                   
• Strollers
• Umbrellas                    
• Weapons (Except as permitted by Utah law)

**Items not listed but that are determined by security personnel or venue management to be a risk to the safety or enjoyment of guests will not be allowed into the venue.
**Factory-sealed, clear plastic water bottles are allowed (less than one liter, one per guest).
 
A CLEAR-BAG-ONLY policy will be instituted for the 2020-21 season. Clear bags can be purchased at the Campus Store, Locker 42, Maverik Stadium and The Spectrum.
