Kevin Reeve Named Zoom Ambassador in Newly Announced Program

By Marcus Jensen |

LOGAN, Utah — Kevin Reeve has been named as one of the inaugural Zoom Ambassadors of the newly announced Zoom Education Ambassador Program. Reeve, the director of Teaching & Learning Technologies at Utah State University, is one of 30 ambassadors from K-12 and higher education institutions.

The program is designed to foster a community of educators and administrators who can leverage Zoom Workplace to enhance teaching and learning, while also improving productivity. Ambassadors are encouraged to host virtual webinars and in-person presentations on how to successfully implement Zoom. They also will have access to beta programs, allowing them to provide feedback on shaping the future development of Zoom for educational purposes.

“Our participation in this program will provide us the ability to network with other thought leaders across the globe, where we can learn from and share with each other,” said Ryan Hobbs, USU vice president for Online and Digital Learning Technology. “USU will be front and center in helping to share the future of learning. Our existing partnership and participation in this program illustrate our shared commitment to innovation and collaboration and will give us the opportunity to shape future product enhancements and provide insights to Zoom in how faculty and students use these applications.”

USU has been at the forefront of using Zoom since the COVID-19 pandemic, delivering more than 300 academic courses a semester to all USU Statewide Campuses. Reeve has been a large part of the university’s digital learning efforts, alongside the university Classroom Technologies team, directed by Shane Thomas. USU is one of Zoom’s largest educational partners.

“We currently have 250 Zoom Rooms-enabled classrooms now and will have over 300 by the end of 2024,” Reeve said. “This allows our faculty throughout the state to deliver high-quality interactive courses. I am honored to be part of the newly formed Zoom Education Ambassador Program and look forward to exciting networking opportunities.”

Prior to becoming an ambassador, Reeve helped create and host the annual Zoom EDU Summit, a two-day event that has brought more than 40 institutions to Logan to see and learn about how USU and other institutions are utilizing the program.
