Honorary Degrees and Commencement Speaker Nominations

Utah State University is seeking nominations for Honorary Degrees for 2024 and a Commencement Speaker for the 2025 graduation ceremony. The deadline for nominations is November 15, 2023.

The committee is looking for individuals who have shown sustained activity of uncommon merit, people who have achieved a prominent career nationally or internationally, or those who have shown significant service beyond the normal expectations of their profession to Utah State University, the community, or the State of Utah. Nominations must include the following:

• Completed application
• Short summary of the individual's qualifications, emphasizing those considered most meritorious
• Complete resume* or curriculum vita*, and
• Letters of recommendation*

* All documents must be uploaded as either a Word document (.doc) or image (.jpg).Please note that once the process is started, you can’t pause or save – you will have to start over.

Nominations should be kept confidential until a final decision is made by Utah State’s Board of Trustees.
