Be an Aggie

USU is for you

Before You Apply

Choosing which college to attend is a big deal. To make things easier, review our suggested college preparation steps. No matter where you decide to go, you will be prepared to make your decision...to be an Aggie, of course.

1. Meet With You High School Counselor

Counselors help you set goals and plan your high school courses.

2. Take Official ACT/SAT Tests

Your ACT/SAT test score determines your academic scholarship qualification. Take the test as early and often as possible. Note: Admission to Utah State is test optional, but your ACT/SAT test scores will still be considered if submitted.

3. Take Honors, AP, or Concurrent Enrollment Classes

These classes not only prepare you for more rigorous college courses; they also count toward your college credit load and are less expensive. These classes can also be used toward a comprehensive scholarship review for academic scholarship awarding.

USU Concurrent Enrollment

For Utah students*, Concurrent Enrollment (CE) classes allow you to double up on credits since they fulfill requirements for both high school and college.

For students outside of Utah, you can still take select USU courses. Talk to your high school counselor to see which high school courses our USU classes may cover.

*Not all schools in Utah offer USU CE courses. Talk with your high school counselor to see which USU concurrent enrollment courses are available at your school.
