Funding Opportunities for Faculty
The Center for Intersectional Gender Studies offers fellowships, grants, and co-sponsorships for faculty to pursue interdisciplinary, intersectional gender research and teaching. We also support campus events, including visiting speakers, performances, lectures, and symposia, that align with our mission.
Intersections Faculty Research Fellowship
The Center supports USU faculty pursuing research in the field of intersectional gender studies. Funding up to $1,500 annually will be given to support research activities, including research travel, significant revisions of a manuscript or creative work for submission, preparation and submission of a research proposal, or data collection to complete a project. We also invite Research Fellows to participate in the Center’s Research Clusters, Research Development Workshops, and review the next round of Research Fellow applications.
Intersections Faculty Teaching Fellowship
The Center supports faculty efforts to revise and restructure existing courses, or to develop new courses that will contribute to the Center's programs. Fellows will receive $1,500 to support their course redevelopment work. We will also invite Fellows to participate in an Inclusive Teaching Development Workshop and review the next round of Teaching Fellow applications.
Intersections Staff Development Fund
The Center supports USU staff pursuing professional development in the field of intersectional gender studies. Funding up to $500 annually will be given to support development activities, including travel, attendance to a professional development workshop, conference, or seminar, preparation and submission of a proposal, or data collection to complete a project.
Intersections Event Co-Sponsorship Grant
To support the Center’s goal of increasing the visibility and impact of intersectional gender scholarship and creative activities, we seek proposals for co-sponsorship of campus-wide events and initiatives. The Center seeks to support a wide variety of events but is especially interested in programming that is intellectually enriching to undergraduate and graduate students and faculty across USU’s campuses.
Intersections Travel Grant
To support the Center’s goal of funding research or creative works in the field of intersectional gender studies, and to support efforts aimed at advancing women and members of other historically marginalized and underrepresented groups into full and equal participation in the humanities and sciences, we seek proposals for our travel grant applications.
