Make Your Voice Heard

Each year, the USU student body elects officers to lead the Utah State University Student Association (USUSA). Throughout the USU system, the USUSA student government plays a vital role in shaping the student experience at USU, working to increase the quality of campus life and enhance student wellbeing. Every USU student is a member of USUSA – together, we are one student body united under one organization.

USUSA student body elections are the best time of the year to make your voice heard. By engaging in the process, candidates learn more about students' interests while voters prepare to make informed decisions. The more we all participate during these elections, the more we will learn about each other and our university.

How Can I Participate in Student Body Elections?

Whether you run for office or simply cast your vote, USUSA elections are the best time of the year to make your voice heard as a student. By engaging with the process, voters and candidates alike can make election season a more worthwhile experience. Participate in the 2023 elections in any of these three ways: cast your vote, run for office, and engage with the process.

#1 - Vote
Voting is the easiest but also the most important way you can participate in USUSA elections. All you have to do is go to vote.usu.edu during the voting period, and login using your A-number and strong password. It takes less than two minutes to fill out the online ballot and press submit.

#2 - Run for Office
USUSA officers play an instrumental role in creating the USU experience. Running for office is a rewarding experience filled with opportunities to network and demonstrate leadership. By contributing to the process, all candidates help us learn more about the state of our university and the needs of our student body.

#3 - Engage with the Process
USUSA elections are the voice of USU. When we make our voices heard, candidates learn more about students' interests and voters gain the knowledge to make informed decisions. Throughout the process, take advantage of the many opportunities to make your voice heard, such as viewing candidates' online profiles and attending elections events.

Why are Student Body Elections Important?

Every USU student is a member of USUSA. Together, we are one student body united under one organization. Led by elected student body officers, USUSA works to improve the quality of campus life and enhance student wellbeing. These elections are your chance to decide the future of our organization and the student body.

Students most often see USUSA officers:

  • Planning your favorite student events
  • Leading our student section – the HURD – at athletic events
  • Preserving valued university traditions

Behind the scenes, student leaders are also:

  • Managing student fee funds to plan events and improve campus
  • Collaborating with students and listening to their concerns
  • Voicing student interests to faculty members, administrators, policymakers, and other community leaders

These elections have a real impact on your student experience. By participating in USUSA elections, students help decide who will oversee these important responsibilities and contribute to the improvement of our university community. The more we all engage in the process, the more we learn about each other and the state of our school.
