1.1 Authority of the General Policies (Section 100) and Authority and Amendment Policies (Section 200)

These policies are subordinate to State of Utah Statutes, the Board of Regents' (hereafter Regents') Code of Policies and Procedures, and the authority of the Board of Trustees and the President. They supersede all previous University policies and procedures, and take precedence over previously issued executive memoranda and other policy directives affecting the provisions of this document.

200.2 PROCEDURES FOR AMENDING SECTION 100 and SECTION 200 POLICIES

2.1 Proposal Process

Proposals for amendments to Sections 100 and 200 are to be submitted in writing along with appropriate justification for the proposed changes to the University President. Proposals for amendments may be submitted only by officially recognized councils, committees, Faculty Senate, and Officers of Aministration. The President will forward the proposed amendments to the Executive Committee with a recommendation for action.

The Executive Committee will consider the proposed amendments and approve, deny, or remand it back to the President for further review. If ratified, the proposal is forwarded to the University Board of Trustees.

2.4 Ratification by the Board of Trustees

The Board of Trustees will take action on the proposed amendments and, if approved, remand them to the President for implementation.
