iClicker is a student response system that allows faculty to run live polls in their face-to-face and broadcast courses. Students can participate in iClicker polling sessions with their mobile devices, laptops, or an iClicker remote.

How iClicker Works

1. Students come to class with a mobile device, laptop, or an iClicker remote.

(Remotes may be purchased through the USU Campus Store. Information about the mobile device and laptop app is can be found at https://www.iclicker.com/students .)
2. The instructor presents multiple-choice polls (with advanced options for numeric and alphanumeric questions) throughout his or her presentation or discussion session. Students use their devices, laptops, or remotes to click in their responses.
 

3. Student responses are captured by a base station located in the classroom and are saved onto the instructor's flash drive. The instructor can display and review the results of the poll in class.

4. The instructor can mark a specific answer as correct. Grades can be exported to a spreadsheet and imported into Canvas.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much do iClicker remotes cost?

New iClicker remotes cost about $62.95 at the USU Campus Store and come with a 5-year Reef Mobile Access. Clickers can also be purchased used or rented, if available.

Can I share or reuse my iClicker remote?

Yes! You can use a remote for any course that uses iClicker for the rest of your college career at USU or elsewhere. If the instructor is okay with it, you can share remotes with other students, as long as they are not taking the same course as the person with whom they are sharing.

Where do I register my remote?

The preferred registration method is through the iClicker Registration link in the Canvas course navigation. If you can't see that tool, reach out to your instructor to get that added. For more information, see our page on registering your iClicke remote.

Alternatively, you can register your remote at www.iclicker.com by clicking the large Register link. The registration process is simple and straightforward. You will be asked for your first name, last name, student ID (or A#), and remote ID.

Why do I have to register my iClicker?

Registering a clicker remote associates it with your A number. Once associated, the student's grades from iClicker will sync with Canvas.
