USU Eastern athletics thanks you for choosing to be part of the Eastern Club. As a member of the Eastern Club, you are a representative of the USU Eastern athletic department. This means that your actions are considered to be those of the USU Eastern athletics department. The regulations that are set forth by the National Junior College Athletic Association office are for all representatives for the USU Eastern athletic department, including Eastern Club members. The institution and all those affiliated with them, must remain compliant with the NJCAA in order to remain an eligible member. Together we can create a wonderful atmosphere for the student-athlete while remaining within the spectrum of eligibility set forth by the NJCAA.

The following regulations are provided by the NJCAA concerning student-athlete support:

  • Student athletes are not permitted to receive assistance, in cash or in kind, that is not administered by USU Eastern, or which does not fall within the limits of grant-in-aid.
  • A member of a student-athlete’s family may not receive assistance, in cash or in kind.
  • No purchasing meals at restaurants for student-athletes.
  • No payment of registration fees for prospects to attend sports camps.
  • No mailing anything of benefit to a prospective student-athlete except personal letters.
  • No permitting athletes to engage in employment for which they receive greater compensations, or in which they are not required to work as hard as others in similar employment or which is otherwise not legitimate employment.
  • Not permitted to pay transportation costs for prospects or their acquaintances to visit USU Eastern.
  • No permitting prospective student-athlete to be solicited to attend their institution by the promise of gift or any aid wither than that of a Grant-in-aid.
  • No contacting student-athletes enrolled at other two-year institutions to explore the possibilities of transferring to USU Eastern.
  • No permitting or arranging for excessive entertainment of a prospect on campus or elsewhere during the prospects official visit.
  • No providing a student-athlete with a discount, payment plan, or credit on a service.
  • No providing a student-athlete with a professional services without charge or at a reduced cost.
  • No permitting the institution or a representative of its athletic interests to provide an automobile for use by the prospect during the prospect’s official visit.
  • No permitting any outside organization, agency or group of individuals to utilize, administer, or expend funds for recruiting prospects.
  • No allowing a student-athlete to use a phone or credit card without charge or at a reduced rate.
  • No making available to student-athletes services from commercial agencies without charge or at a reduced rate.
  • No providing a student-athlete with extra benefits or services.
