Focus Areas, Exploratory Tracks and Common Majors and Courses
A focus area is a starting point for your academic exploration. These distinct collections of programs and courses allow you to investigate your interests in order to guide you to the major that aligns most closely with your future goals. You are assigned an advisor within your focus area who can help you explore majors and courses at USU.

Persuading and Influencing
Values working with people, communication, risk-taking, status, competition. Enjoys selling, marketing, managing, persuading, facilitating, math, or data. Apt to be ambitious, competitive, persuasive, self-confident, goal-directed, and enjoy a fast-paced environment.
Analyzing
Values making observations, scientific inquiry, asking questions, intellectual effort and evaluating evidence. Wants to study living organisms, work in healthcare, research, teaching, or industry. Interested in how science affect our environment and living organisms. Apt to be thoughtful, investigative, observant, and analytical.
Analyzing
Values intellectual effort, scientific inquiry, math. Wants to understand and predict physical and biological phenomena and practices. Likes to work with theories, do research, design and test ideas and systems. Apt to be analytical, cautious, independent, curious, introspective, critical, studious.
