Fees & Financial Aid
Online courses for in-state students cost the same as traditional courses. Students living outside the state of Utah pay a special per-credit rate.
How much do online courses cost?
For students living in the state of Utah, online classes follow the tuition and fee schedule as stated on the USU Registrar's website. Students living outside the state of Utah pay $382 per credit for undergraduate courses and $488 per credit for graduate courses. There is also a $15 per credit online course fee. Please note tuition rates generally change every year.
Individual courses and/or programs often have special tuition rates and/or fees that differ from those listed here.
Why do I pay additional campus fees?
All USU student fees are assessed based on tuition and fee tables set by state legislation for public universities regardless of delivery method. Fees are not optional and cannot be waived. Online students who do not come to campus for class, still have access to a variety of services funded by campus fees including: online library resources, testing, tutoring, IT support, and access to statewide campus computer labs and buildings. Students in Logan have access to health services, campus recreation, shuttles, and other resources funded by campus fees.
How do I pay for courses?
Payments can be made through the Registrar's Office with cash/check or online through TouchNet with MasterCard, Discover Card, American Express, or web checks. The Registrar's office has full details about payment options.
For financial aid information, application deadlines, and types of financial aid please contact the USU Financial Aid Office at 435-797-1073 or visit the financial aid website. It is suggested students apply early for financial aid because of complex federal requirements. It can take up to three months to process an accurate application. To be eligible for financial aid, student must be fully admitted to USU.
How can I get a refund?
When a student withdraws from classes before the course drop deadline, he or she is entitled to a 100 percent refund of all course costs excluding books. Refund deadlines are listed in the Registration Calendar.
All refunds will be mailed to the student or deposited directly into the student's bank account if they have set up direct deposit. Admissions fees are nonrefundable.
