December 2022 Newsletter

Colleagues,

2022 has gone fast! I have a number of Utah Women & Leadership Project (UWLP) announcements for December:

First, we are pleased to announce the release of a new research snapshot titled “Homelessness Among Utah Women” (with Candice B. Pierucci and Dr. Emily S. Darowski). In addition, we have a new “What Can I Do?” idea sheet based on a think tank gathering that had ideas about how individuals, groups, and organizations can support and empower girls and women in Tooele County. Thanks to everyone involved in these publications.

Second, in partnership with USU Extension, we have released a new online course titled “Overcoming Impostor Syndrome for Women.” This course was created to empower women struggling with impostor syndrome. The course is based on research related to what impostor syndrome entails including its impact, origins, triggers, and influencing factors, as well as ways to manage and overcome it. Through this curriculum, we hope to help women build their capacity and confidence to transform their lives. This course takes approximately four hours to complete, one hour for each of the following four modules: 1) Feeling like an impostor? 2) Impostor Attitudes and the Impostor Cycle; 3) Types of Impostors and Triggers; and 4) Strategies and Personal Plan. Participants will read lessons, watch videos, complete activities, and self-reflect in a journal. Cost: $25.00.

Third, we have a few resources to highlight this month:
