Colleagues,

I have a number of Utah Women & Leadership Project (UWLP) announcements for May:

First, we are excited to announce the official launch of Utah’s “A Bolder Way Forward” (BWF), which focuses on making Utah a place where more girls and women can thrive in any setting (e.g., home, workplace, congregation, and community). This powerful and comprehensive statewide initiative focuses on creating change in Utah faster, better, and more effectively. The official launch event (sponsored by Zions Bank and Campbell Companies) will be held on June 9, 2023 from 9:00am-1:00pm at Zions Technology Campus. We hope you can join us!

Second, we are pleased to announce the release of a new research snapshot titled “Maternal Mental Health Among Utah Women” (with Rachel Denton, Sadie Wilde, and Madison Harmer). Additionally, we released a new “What Can I Do?” idea sheet for Carbon County (based on a community gathering) and a new white paper titled “Gender Development Indicators for Utah: Based on 2015-2020 Human Development Index” (with Dr. Maritza Sotomayor & Dr. Emily S. Darowski). Thanks to everyone involved in these publications.

Third, we have a few new UWLP resources to highlight this month:

• New Podcast Episodes (with Utah Public Radio): The Status of Women in Utah Politics: A 2023 Update and 100 Companies Championing Women (Extra Space Storage, Clyde Companies, Morgan Stanley, and Instructure)
• Videos: Advancing Women Through “Developmental Relationships”: A Dialogue with Global Experts and Teen Girls Experiencing Increased Sadness and Violence: A Discussion with Utah Experts
