General Education - Certificate of Completion

  • In order to earn the certificate, students must complete all general education requirements for Utah State University.
  • Students may complete USU general education requirements through Concurrent Enrollment (CE) courses in high school.
  • The certificate is transferrable to all institutions in the Utah System of Higher Education.
  • Concurrent Enrollment credits earned in general education from another institution in the Utah System of Higher Education (USHE) are transferable to USU.
  • At least seven (7) of the general education credits must be completed through Utah State University.
  • A minimum GPA of 2.0 is required in coursework taken to fulfill certificate requirements.

CE students attending USU after high school
  • Apply for admission as a new student
  • Select your intended major and start term (usually Fall)
  • Send your college transcripts to USU with concurrent enrollment credits earned from other schools
  • If your general education coursework is complete, your General Education Certificate of Completion will be automatically awarded to you at the end of Fall semester
CE students NOT attending USU after high school
  • A 2.0 high school GPA is required
  • Apply to USU as a new student
  • Select General Education - CC as your field of study
  • Select Summer as your admit term
  • Apply before June 15
  • Send your college transcripts to USU with concurrent enrollment credits earned from other schools

Track Your Progress
Track your progress toward completion of General Education requirements at Utah State University.
  • Log into your MyUSU account at my.usu.edu
  • Select Academic Records from the left sidebar under Tools
  • Select Degree Works (the university's degree audit program)
  • There you can view the General Education Requirements block which will show you all the classes you need to complete to fulfill the General Education Requirements at USU. If the requirement has been met, the requirement will have a green check mark. If it has not been completed, it will be displayed with a red circle. Those in progress will be displayed with a blue half circle.
