Sparkshops

ETE Sparkshops were created to "spark" creative ideas and methods for instructors. The topics for Sparkshops vary. Sparkshops are about 45 minutes in length and can be requested by departments to be presented to their instructors or can be requested by an instructor directly. 

 

How to Facilitate Successful Group Work in Online Classes (Digital-Age)

Join us for this Sparkshop to learn several ways to think about your curriculum, no matter your discipline, and ways to support underrepresented students. Come with some challenges you’ve faced in your teaching, and we’ll brainstorm how you can support underrepresented students through curricular decision-making.

Using Bloom's Taxonomy to Craft Better Questions to Engage Students (Evidence-Based)

Have you wondered about how you can encourage students to engage with your material at a deeper level? Have you heard of Bloom Taxonomy, but maybe it’s been a while? If the answer to either of these questions is yes, join us for this Sparkshop. In this Sparkshop we will explore the revised version of Bloom’s Taxonomy (2001) and investigate how it can guide you in crafting deeper discussion questions. Spoiler alert, the authors of the revised taxonomy have done much of the work for us already.

Come learn the Who, What, Where, When and Why in regards to disability accommodations at USU in this Sparkshop. Join Accessibility Consultants from the Disability Resource Center who will break down the accommodation process and answer questions you have about providing accommodations.
