Certificates & Pathways

The ETE10 Teaching Scholar Certificate and Master Teaching Certificates are the culminating credentials in the ETE10 program. A total of 10 ETE badges must be earned from each of the three tiers (Engage, Implement, and Contribute) to stack toward a certificate.

The ETE10 Explore College Teaching, Teaching Scholar, and Master Teaching Certificates are the culminating credentials in the ETE10 program. ETE badges must be earned from each of the three tiers (Engage, Implement, and Contribute) to stack toward a certificate.

Certificates

Explore College Teaching Certificate
This certificate was created by and for graduate students. This certificate requires 5 engage tier badges and feeds directly into the Teaching Scholar Pathway if the graduate student desires to move forward further with thier instructor professional development. To complete the Explore Certificate, graduate students will need to complete the Explore College Teaching track.

Teaching for Student Success Certificate

The supplemental certificate focused on exposing faculty to best practices to support student success and academic belonging as well as introducing faculty to the range of success supports available to faculty and students. This certificate is obtained by earning 5 badges (3 engage, 2 implement) including:

Introduction to Teaching for Student Success (Engage)

Introduction to Student Resources (Engage)

Plan Your Teaching Excellence Pathway (Engage)

and your choice of 2 implements from the recommended list in the Empower Teaching Canvas Course.

Teaching Scholar Certificate

The primary certificate is obtained by earning 10 badges (6 engage, 3 implement, 1 contribute badges) along with completing one of four tracks available on the Teaching Scholar Pathway.

Digital-Age Teaching track

Diversity Mentorship and Inclusive Teaching track

Evidence-Based Teaching track

Foundations of College Teaching track

Master Teacher Certificate

Prerequisite: Teaching Scholar Certificate

The Master Teacher Certificate is structured to enhance instructor development by requiring participants to contribute to ETE's mission that "elevates and promotes our culture of teaching excellence." This secondary certificate is awarded by earning 10 more badges (4 engage, 3 implements, 3 contribute) including:

Either the ETE Conference - 1st (Contribute) OR the Journal on ETE (Contribute) badge, and

Either the SCOTs (Implement) OR the Peer Evaluation - Courses (Implement).

Implement Badges
Add a new technique to a course discovered from event attendance or develop or redevelop an online course that passes a quality rubric evaluation or receive and complete the specifications for an AIS grant and submit a reflection.
