Ease Into Campus Life

Transition to college with the right foot forward. Every student faces challenges when starting university, but as a veteran, you have unique skills and experiences that will help you succeed academically. We are here to provide support and guidance as you transition to campus. Our community is strong and vibrant, and we're here to ensure the process of reintegration can be a positive and rewarding experience for all veterans.

VITAL Program

The Veterans Integrated to Academic Leadership (VITAL) program works to support veterans’ academic and personal success through peer mentoring, consultation, and advocacy. From assistance with physical and mental healthcare to navigating various on- and off-campus resources, VITAL strives to guide student veterans through the needs and challenges of reintegration.

The core of the program is our team of VITAL peers. These experienced and knowledgeable peer mentors serve as guides during the transition from military life to civilian and university life. As links between USU, the VA, and other key systems, VITAL peers play an important role in mentoring and supporting their fellow student veterans through their educational and career pursuits.

Our Services

We understand each student veteran has unique needs. VITAL helps ensure that student veterans receive the best support possible no matter what your circumstances are. All you’re asked to do is meet with a VITAL peer mentor once per semester. Please register for the VITAL program below under the “Get Started” section.
