Merrill Hall is located in South Campus, close to the Library and the Business, Engineering, and Fine Arts buildings. You must be 19 years or older to live on the West Wing of Merrill Hall (apartments ending in 01 through 06).

About the Community
Living Here
South Campus currently includes one apartment-style residence hall (with another scheduled to be built in the next few years) and is home to all walks of student life. Its prime location and close-knit community provide an optimal campus experience for all students. Students who live here also have the support of many Residence Life Staff members.
Merrill Hall is split into two communities on the West wing and the East wing. The West wing houses upper-class and returning students. It's a great community for students looking to find a quiet, comfortable, study-centered home, with extra opportunity to live with students of their own choosing. The East wing houses freshman students, which creates an energetic community of students looking to start their college experience the right way.

Traditions
South Campus is not without its traditions, created to give students memorable experiences all year long.
The Speakeasy is our marquee event of the year, welcoming over 500 students in 1920s-themed attire for a party featuring live music and dancing, mocktail beverages, free food, free photo booth, card games and prizes.
Looking to get off the couch? Come outside for our annual Movie Night. Students choose the movie in an area-wide vote. Popcorn, drinks and snacks are on us.
If you're all about free stuff, watch for competitions and drawings from the Housing Resource Fair, Halloween costume contest and March Madness bracket challenge. Or just stop by the Residence Director's office for free taffy (always in stock).

For best washing results:
- Use 2 Tbsp. of concentrated HE detergent (it's specially formulated for these machines)
- Choose a cold water setting to save energy
- Wash only full loads

Make Your "Home Away From Home"
Bring these items and make it your "home away from home."
- Bedding: sheets, blankets, pillow, pillowcases, and bedspread. Mattresses are 36” x 80” (Twin XL, longer than a regular twin bed)

In addition to your personal belongings, you will need items for your kitchen. Check with your roommates in advance to avoid duplication. You may even want to wait until after you move in and purchase items after consulting each other. The following is a list of possibilities:

Storage space in all buildings is very limited. Please plan accordingly.
Housekeeping & Maintenance
Residents are responsible for cleaning their apartment, which includes the bathroom and should stock household cleaning supplies and toilet paper. Vacuum cleaners can be checked out for temporary use at the area office. Repairs and regular maintenance of residence halls is done by Housing Facilities staff. Residence may submit maintenance requests.
