Sensitivity Samples

Luminescence sensitivity is a unique property within quartz that may be related to the bedrock source and transport history of sediment.

 

Modern sensitivity samples (i.e. sediment within an active river channel) do not need to be collected in a light-proof tube or bag.  A quart-sized plastic bag of sediment is sufficient to assess the quartz sensitivity.
