    Introducing Our New Electric Vehicle

    Motor Pool now has a 2023 Hyundai Kona EV. It seats four comfortably and has a range over 200 miles. Contact Motor Pool to make a reservation.

    Rent a Vehicle

USU Fleet Services offers vehicle rental for University business travel. Review the vehicle types below.

Please Note:
Mini Bus rentals require drivers with additional training and certifcation than our other vehicle types.  Please see Mini Bus Certification for details on timeline and training requirements.

University Vehicle Rental Requirements

  • Payment is made using department index numbers.  We cannot accept credit cards or cash.
  • All reserved vehicles must be picked up at Motorpool by 4:45pm, unless prior arrangements have been made.
  • You must be 18-years of age, or older (21-years for Mini Buses or 9+ passenger vehicles).
  • Vehicles are only available for rent by USU employees and students.
  • The State of Utah requires all drivers complete the Defensive Driver Training course.
  • Use your A# as your "Operator ID" to login to the portal.
  • Reservations must be made using the A# of the person driving the vehicle.
  • A University Index number must be entered into the comments field during the reservation process.
  • Enter your Travel Authorization number in the comments field during the reservation process.
  • Cancellations made within 24 hours of pick-up time will be charged $25 fee.
  • Return all vehicles with a full fuel tank to avoid a $10 fuel charge.

* Daily rates apply when the average miles per day is 100 miles or less. If the daily average exceeds 100 miles, the charge is calculated using the Mileage Cost per mile driven.

Additional Information

Half-day rates are available if the vehicle will be used for less than 4 hours, will be back by 4:30 pm and will be driven no more than 50 miles. We do not take reservations for half-day rentals. Please call 435-797-3145 for availability within 24 hours of needing the vehicle.

Note: Weekend rentals are charged at regular daily rates.

Long Term (Monthly) Rental Rates (with Free Weekends & Free Miles/Month)

  • Minibuses, Minivans, Trucks, & SUV's rate is 21 times the Minimum Daily Rental Rate then standard. mileage rate after 2,100 miles
  • Sedans are rated at 21 times the Minimum Daily Rental Rate then standard mileage rate between 2,100 and 2,500; after 2,500 miles we charge.20/mile.
